Jon Atkinson's Homing Pigeon Loft

Jon Atkinson's Homing Pigeon Loft

This homing pigeon loft belongs to Jon Atkinson of Lenoir City, Tennessee. Jon had purchased some homing pigeons from us but when we attempted to mail the birds, we found out that the post office would not deliver to his location. So, we made the twelve hundred mile trip and delivered Jon's homing pigeons to him.

Jon originally raced pigeons in the Detroit area but has retired to Tennessee after having some heart problems. What makes Jon's homing pigeon loft special is that his wife Janice had it built for him. She knew Jon loved his pigeons and she felt that this was just what he needed to keep him active. Janice had the homing pigeon loft built quite a ways from the house so that Jon would also get some extra exercise and he's lovin' it.

I told Jon that I should have brought my camera with me because I was thinking about adding pigeon loft pictures to the website and it might help give people different ideas about loft construction. After receiving the above photo of Jon's homing pigeon loft in the mail, I was prompted to start this section of the site.

Thank you Jon & Janice!
